Biography[]
Alejandro Moya High School was founded on August 9, 1857 in Zachplyn, thanks to the vision of Victor Lynn, the city's Mayor. The Mayor's staff and councilmen searched a long time for the ideal location for the new school. The Mayor's sister lived in Zachplyn and had to send her teenage twins to San Africa High School in the nearby village. At a family dinner, she suggested to her brother that he build the new high school in her neighborhood. Thus, a few years later, the entire population and the elected officials of this beautiful place was present to inaugurate the new building.
The City Council wanted to pay tribute to a physicist and genius named Alejandro Moya, who lived in Jonathanland in the 1850s. This eminent scientist was one of the most brilliant scientists of his time and brought international recognition to Jonathanland. A humanist, and a good man, he had a reputation for making physics accessible to all, even the very young. The residents and the City Council voted unanimously in a referendum to name the school after him.
Alejandro Moya requested that the City Council make the school co-ed, so that all boys and girls, even those from the most modest backgrounds, could have access to education. He always expressed to the media that if he had not received the love and support of the nuns of the Orphanage of the Wandering Stars who took him in, he would never have been able to succeed in life.
