Anthony is a 13-year-old African-American boy living in Jonathanland with his parents, sister and brother. He has a loving family. Anthony is not a typical child, he is autistic. His biggest dream is to have a dog. Unfortunately, his parents have always refused. For them, it is not compatible with his disability. Despite their son's sadness and distress, they think that it would be too big of a burden. One day, Anthony is walking on a road in Jonathanland, lost in his teenage dreams. At a bend in the road, he meets Lotty, a small white female dog. The boy will discover that Lotty is a very unusual dog. What secrets does she hide?
